ZHAO Chen graduated from the Department of Architecture, Nanjing Institute of Technology in 1982. Since then, he started teaching architectural design and researching in the history and theories of architecture. He studied and worked in the Department of Architecture, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich for twice during 1990-1998. His research focuses on the comparison of Western and Chinese/Non-Western Architectural Cultures. One of his academic publications “Misinterpretation of Facade” has received positive feedbacks. He has designed and built some important works in China which won him certain awards. Currently he is a professor and the Vice-dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Nanjing University, China.
