Prof. Edward Ng was invited as keynote speaker to give a speech titled "Urban Climatic Mapping for Planning - An experience from Hong Kong" in the 47th ISOCARP Congress 2011 on 25 Oct 2011. Talk on Urban Climate, Climate Change and Sustainable Living (posted on 21/09/2011)
Prof. Edward Ng had given a talk titled "Urban Climate, Climate Change and Sustainable Living" at St. Rose of Lima's College on 20 Sept 2011. Around 490 students from Secondary 4-6 had participated in the talk.
There were good communication and interaction between the lecturer and the students, and the talk successfully alerted the students to the issue of climate change and sustainable living.
InnoAsia 2011 Conference

Exhibition on UC Map at World Sustainable Building Conference, Helsinki
As the delegate led by the Development Bureau of HKSAR Government, Prof Edward Ng's research team will join the World Sustainable Building Conference 2011 at Helsiniki, exhibiting the research outcomes of urban climate map on 18-21 October. Please click here to visit the event website.
BEAM Pro Master Programme 2011
The lectures on 3-4 Sep were successfully held. Total 156 MSc students and BEAM professionals with different background has registered to the 4-day programme.
BEAM Pro Master Programme 2011
The Beam Society is going to hold an intense training programme "BEAM Pro Master Programme" in September. The programme is divided into 4 sessions and different speakers are invited to give a lecture on site aspects, energy use and etc. This training is regarded as one of the important events supported by the Knowledge Transfer Project Fund. Public Talk in HK Science Museum Lecture Series
Prof. Edward Ng will give a talk titled "Fire - Heat and Thermal Comfort in our Urban Environment" in the Lecture Series named "Wind, Fire, Water and Electricity" held by HK Science Museum on 5 Nov, 2011. The lecture will elaborate some of the scientific background, explain some of the consequence, and will discuss some of the mitigation measures that are possible for us to take action for the heat waves.
BEAM AVA Seminar-RICS(BS)CPD
Prof. Edward Ng will introduce and explain the Air Ventilation Assessment (AVA) principles and implementation process in the BEAM seminar to be held at RICS Asia Office on 29 Sep, 2011.
Lecture on PNAP APP-152
Prof. Edward Ng gave a lecture titled "PNAP APP-152 on permeability and greening related to urban climate" in the HKIS CPD event. Around 50 people including HKIS memeber, BEAM Pro, and other non-menbers attended the talk.
Lecture by Prof. Bob Bornstein
The lecture titled "Interactions of global warming and urban climate in different climate zones" has been successfully held on 20 Jul, 2011. Around 40 students and HKO staff attended the lecture.
