A new paradigm - An urban park, a creation of the 19th century, a zone separated out and designated for public use, a signature on a city map and a novelty of yesterday's urban planning, is no longer a feasible morphological archetype in today's congested cityscape. A new urban park represents a paradigm shift and a re-thinking. Life in between - Survival is an amazing act of natural life. Buried deep within the concrete grid of human's regularity, nature is planning its revenge, pushing through the barriers and navigating the in-between spaces, seeds germinate, reclaim the ground and establish a presence and extending its territory. A matrix of life is formed. This is the new urban park. Phoenix rises from the ashes - In the sea of decaying cityscape, human ghettos, chaos and pollution, the new urban parks recycles the useless into the useful. Rising above the hinterland and the decays, they are the first symbols of life. These first generation urban parks nourish the ground and prepare the ways. Revitalised and refreshed, life moves on … Remarking in progress - Endeavour to continue and rising in the midst of history, the artificial life forms, shaped by the desire to overcome, begin to make their marks. Counterparts to their urban neighbours whom are consumers, these mechanical parks are each genetically engineered to survive, to provide and to multiply. And Civilisation continues. Beyond the Stratosphere - Connecting the Heaven and the Earth and reaching for the elements of life, the new urban parks channel the essentials to where they are needed. Fire provides hope and illumination, Wind inspires and motivates, Water refreshes and moisturises, Earth nurtures and sustains, and Metal enables and empowers … Horizon the limit - As a desire is attained, the next is sought. Utopia sees no boundary. The new vertical urban parks rise above the imagination, extend beyond the mist, and stretches out towards the horizon. Always on the look out for new adventures, new land to reclaim and a new self to actualise. Paradise lost and regained, this is sustaining life at its utmost … Taking Root - Amidst the numerous vertical urban parks, light and energy penetrates deep into the ground illuminating the unsung heroes, the roots, the unseen networks of channels, routes, connectors, and the horizontal feeders. Contemplating and envisioning the next move, the pioneers continue to explore beyond the unknown …
