2011 BMW 528i

After my Audi A6 Avant, I decided to try a BMW.  My first car many years ago when I was a student was a BMW2002.  I still like that car.

My new BMW is more mature.  I test-drove it and the new Audi A6 3.0T; and I settled on the BMW as it seemed to be a bit more “calm down”.  It is quieter inside than my old Audi A6.  It is not as quick as the new 2011 Audi A6 3.0T, but it seems to cover the miles in better style.  The BMW 528i is also cheaper than the Audi A6 3.0T (HK$750K).  The 528i still has 258 bhp, which is just enough for me.  I tried the BMW535i; it was very quick but it was too expensive (HK$800K).

The interior of my 528i is very simple and nice.  I particularly like its simplicity.  It makes one feel easier.  It has fewer goodies than my old Audi A6, but it means it will go wrong less often.  My BMW has Space Grey exterior and Black Dakota leather interior.  It has a large moon roof. The 8-speed sport automatic allows it to be driven a little bit quicker than it is needed.  It has “drive-select” for normal or sport driving.

I took hold of the car on 4th Oct 2011; a few rounds on twisty roads confirmed that the decision buying it had been well made.  The car went around corners extremely well even in normal driving mode.  The car was not particularly fast off the line, but it picked up easily.  It went extremely well over bumps and broken roads; hence, it was a lot more comfortable than my old Audi A6.

Apart from Metallic Space Grey paint outside and Leather seats inside, my BMW has the following key options: Auto-AC, Cruise control, Driving dynamics control, Electric front seats with memory, Bluetooth and USB connect, Anti-dazzle mirrors, Rain sensor and auto light controls, Ambient interior light, Alloy 17”wheels with runflat tyres, Park distance control, Dark ash grain trim, Sport leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, Xenon lights, and Moon-roof.
