Liangqiao Village is located in the north of Mu'er Township, Yubei District, Chongqing City. It covers an area of 10.25 square kilometers, 96% of which are mountainous areas above 25 degrees. It is a typical hilly landscape with abundant forest vegetation.The village has 463 villagers groups with a population of about 957, and the per capita annual income is 2,000 yuan. The income of the villagers is mainly from agriculture products. Young generation are mostly migrant workers. The elderly and children are left in the village and their living conditions are very difficult.

Zongbawuji is the poorest group in the village. There is a river with a length of 1.8 kilometers, a width of about 10 meters and a depth of 2 meters Learnt from the village official, the flood can reach about 2 meters height during flood season. It seriously affect the commutation of the villagers.

Jul 2019 - project progress

"Yi Xin Qiao" of Liangqiao Village was successfully built at the end of July. It is 2 meters wide, 11.8 meters long and 3.5 meters high.

 

Mar 2019 - project progress

Main structure work of the bamboo bridge was almost completed. Once the site foundation work is done, the bridge will be transported to the site for installation.

 

Mar 2018 - 1st Investigation

The team conducted the 1st investigation trip in March and initially proposed to build a 10-meter bamboo footbridge for the villagers.
